Hello! I'm Jackie, an herbalist in Colorado. I have always had a love for plants and nature, and grew up exploring the Rocky Mountains, learning to appreciate the natural world. I began researching about the power of herbal medicine in my twenties and began reading everything I could get my hands on in the matter. Finding my true passion and wanting to delve deeper, I started an apprenticeship with a local herbalist. I learned how to make remedies, and about local plants and their healing properties. Still finding myself lacking in the detailed knowledge I wanted; I returned to school and completed the renowned and extensive program of Bachelors in Herbal Sciences offered by Bastyr University just outside Seattle Washington. While the continuing joke among my friends is that I went to hogwarts, and some of my classes may have resembled herbology and potions; in reality my education was based in science and has allowed me to understand how best to extract different herbs, and which herbs and essential oils can best be used for different ailments. I continue to learn about different herbs, and new studies to keep up with current research.
While attending school I received an opportunity to create and sell healing salves at the local Harmony Massage and Boutique in Bothell, Washington. I had already discovered my passion for herbal medicine, but seemed here to find my niche. I now create several salves that can aide in helping to ease muscle and joint pain, eczema, sinus congestion, and acute injuries such as bruises, or cuts and scrapes. I have also formulated topical lines for a few other companies, winning them awards in their specific industry.
